Why we care about outside spaces
At Natalia Barbour, we see exterior spaces as intrinsically linked to the architecture and interiors of your home. Whether it is a seating and planting scheme for a London balcony, a sharp design for a small urban garden or an entire landscape for a sprawling country estate, the inside and the outside must work together and feel coherent and organically linked, enhancing each other.
The recent trend of indoor / outdoor living further highlighted the importance of this aesthetic connection. Bifold patio doors stretching the whole wall, full-height windows of slim profiles are all sought-after features of modern living. People are trying to “bring the outside in”, blending the border and letting more light, air and nature into our homes.
House and garden
The home and garden should share the same style and identity to maximise your personal comfort and enjoyment. From an investment perspective, linking the two together will also increase the value of your property, enhancing the quality of your asset.
This is why one of our guiding principles is to oversee every aspect of your property’s development, from conceptual stages to final construction.
In the case of landscape design, this can include working with our landscape specialists or your preferred landscape designer to align the brief to the style of the property and the interiors.
You might be surprised how many stylistic questions will come up during our discussion. We will look at the structure of the garden, composition and planting scheme, plants’ heights and colours, as well as placement of garden accents. Would you like to be able to see your pond from your study desk? Or your prized Acer from the seating area in the family room? Rest assured, nothing will escape our meticulous attention to detail.
Depending on the scale and complexity, additional garden elements we can design may include:
